I have had a positive experience on Twitter so far during this class. I am following many education governmental agencies and teacher resources along with my fellow classmates. I have been interacting with news articles from various education sections of news outlets. This has been beneficial to see what is the newest education news and what research is being done. The knowledge of these two can help me to create a better classroom and teaching environment. I am able implement new research findings and be better aware of situations inside or outside of the classroom. Twitter can be helpful in my future career to create a private twitter to showcase my students' work to their parents or to create an online discussion. It also can be useful to gain more information and to pass that information onto my future students. I feel like I am most prepared to teach with the RL.7 "Multimedia:" Literature, RI.7 "Multimedia:" Informational Text, RHST.7 "Multimedia:" History/Social Studies, and RST.7 "Multimedia:" Science/Technical Subjects standards. I am also prepared to teach with the RI.5 "Text Structure:" Informational Text, W/WHST.8 "Use Multiple Sources" standards. I feel like I am better at the consuming technology than the producing technology standards. I am not as comfortable teaching with the W/WHST.2 "Write to explain/inform," SL.5 "Use Digital Media," and W/WHST.6 "Use Technology" standards. I would use wiki software to provide a public space for my class to share ideas, projects, and class information. I also plan on creating a blog for my class for the parents to follow the class. As a student I have used MS Word to write papers, create ToDo lists or even just to rant to myself about life. Since middle school, most of my writing assignments have been written on Word, then turned in online. Many of my teachers have used Word to create assignments and rubrics or to put directions on the projector or SmartBoard. MS Word has been implemented into all parts of life for simple tasks and for school work. It has replaced typewriters and writing by hand for assignments. Copyright issues arise in the education system in the form of using materials that are not public domain. I have very little experience with copyright issues, other than reading materials being usable once the author has been dead long enough. As a teacher I will use materials that will not infringe copyright laws and make sure to plan projects that will create a problem with my schools' acceptable use policy. Teachers and students are influenced by society and each other to use technology inside the classroom. Teachers are always looking for new ways to engage their students so the use of new technology is a great way for such engagement. Students are influenced by their innovation and creativity to make schoolwork more fun. Teachers are also able to specialize education through using technology.  I believe that the ISTE standards are important and required in our current society. Teachers need to be able to connect with their students and be able to navigate the online world. For myself the "Learner" standard for educators on the ISTE website is the most meaningful. Learning is a life long process so as a teacher I hope to continue learning and growing.    My prior experiences using technology is about average for someone my age. I have grown up using technology therefore I am pretty used to using Word and Powerpoint for class assignments. I have an iPhone and use multiple social media accounts daily. This summer I worked as a camp counselor for the Challenger Learning Center and I learned a lot about technology that I did not know before. I learned more about programming and how to set up a Minecraft server as well as how to use these resources for teaching.    In this class I hope to learn how to implement technology in my future classroom as well as advance my understanding of technology. Our society is advancing towards a technology based living and as advances are being made, my students will be advancing technologically so to keep up I will need to be educated about technology. I am hoping that through this class I will learn about new technologies to use as a teacher as well as in my personal life.
