I looked at Lincoln High School's website (https://www.leonschools.net/lincoln) which teaches grades 9-12. Many of the teachers had Edmodo websites that require a log in but one teacher website that is public is Mrs. Sapp (https://sites.google.com/site/mrssappswebsite/home), who is a math teacher, specifically statistics and algebra 1. She has a welcome paragraph with simple directions on how to use her website with the calendar on the home page. Currently, she is only teaching statistics so there are only pages for statistics class materials. Mrs. Sapp has all of her class material public so students can access it easier and parents can view what is being taught in class. 

I envision myself as a teacher using technology to accomplish my professional responsibilities more efficiently and effectively by helping to connect my classroom to the rest of the world. As a teacher, I will use social media as a way to connect with the parents to create a more collaborative classroom. I will use blogs and social media to provide my students with a place to be creative and show them how to act as a digital citizen. I also plan on using newer technologies such as 3-D printing and Virtual Reality headsets to give my students a more interactive learning experience. 


The Clear Touch Interactive Display would be really cool to have in a classroom for group activities when the class is split up, allowing the teacher to focus on a small group of students. The display allows ten finger at once so it is easy for groups to work together to achieve the goal. The software on it had many useful applications for a wide range of subjects making it especially good for elementary school classrooms where a single teacher teaches many subjects. The apps are relatively simple to use, combining creativity with a structured lesson preventing students from disrupting the teacher whom is busy working with other students.

Teachers and students are influenced by society and each other to use technology inside the classroom. Teachers are always looking for new ways to engage their students so the use of new technology is a great way for such engagement. Students are influenced by their innovation and creativity to make schoolwork more fun. Teachers are also able to specialize education through using technology.  I believe that the ISTE standards are important and required in our current society. The Flipped Classroom is where the teacher designs a class where the students are in charge of their learning through lectures being homework and the classroom time is spent understanding the concepts. In chapter ten, the phrasing  “sage on the stage” to “guide on the side" to describe the teachers' role inside of the classroom. This is an interesting idea for many teachers because   the traditional role for a teacher is to be in charge but with a flipped classroom design the teacher is less the center of the classroom but an extra resource to the students.  Open education is where classes are offered to the public online which allows anyone to learn topics.  Students are able to learn new material if they choose to and teachers can develop their skills as an educator. Blog Journal 4

I have had a positive experience on Twitter so far during this class. I am following many education governmental agencies and teacher resources along with my fellow classmates. I have been interacting with news articles from various education sections of news outlets. This has been beneficial to see what is the newest education news and what research is being done. The knowledge of these two can help me to create a better classroom and teaching environment. I am able implement new research findings and be better aware of situations inside or outside of the classroom. Twitter can be helpful in my future career to create a private twitter to showcase my students' work to their parents or to create an online discussion. It also can be useful to gain more information and to pass that information onto my future students.
