The Web 2.0 technologies that are useful in the classroom are blogs, Twitter, Youtube, and Diigo. All of these tools can be used to create collaborative work within the classroom. Teachers may use Twitter or a blog to communicate with parents in addition to engaging students. The podcast talks about how social media is considered Web 2.0 tools and we have focused mainly on Twitter as an educational tool but I think that other social media can be used more or just as effectively as Twitter. As a teacher, I think it would be interesting to have a class Snapchat or Instagram for the parents and students to follow. These social medias could be useful reminders to do homework and to share important information. 

As a teacher I would be interested in using Edmodo (https://www.edmodo.com/)to facilitate my classes website. Edmodo is similar to Blackboard or Canvas in that it allows a teacher to create a website for their class including online quizzes, and reading materials. Edmodo also allows students to create their own profiles so you are able to get to know each students as individuals. If an entire school uses one of these websites like FSU used to with Blackboard and will again with Canvas, it is easy to create an online community within the school. This sense of community can foster better education. 

I think 3-D printing holds major promise for education, especially in the sciences. 3-D printing technology can be utilized to teach students how to code and programming but also can be used to help teach anatomy. 3-D printing is an amazing technology that can be implemented into every aspect of education. For science classes, you can 3-D print an entire human body to help the students learn the parts of the body or for social studies, you can print out an accurate globe or map. The uses for 3-D printing are only as expansive as the imagination of the person using it.

Teachers and students are influenced by society and each other to use technology inside the classroom. Teachers are always looking for new ways to engage their students so the use of new technology is a great way for such engagement. Students are influenced by their innovation and creativity to make schoolwork more fun. The Flipped Classroom is where the teacher designs a class where the students are in charge of their learning through lectures being homework and the classroom time is spent understanding the concepts. In chapter ten, the phrasing  “sage on the stage” to “guide on the side" to describe the teachers' role inside of the classroom. This is an interesting idea for many teachers because   the traditional role for a teacher is to be in charge but with a flipped classroom design the teacher is less the center of the classroom but an extra resource to the students.  Open education is where classes are offered to the public online which allows anyone to learn topics.  Students are able to learn new material if they choose to and teachers can develop their skills as an educator. I have had a positive experience on Twitter so far during this class. I am following many education governmental agencies and teacher resources along with my fellow classmates. I have been interacting with news articles from various education sections of news outlets. This has been beneficial to see what is the newest education news and what research is being done. The knowledge of these two can help me to create a better classroom and teaching environment. I am able implement new research findings and be better aware of situations inside or outside of the classroom. Twitter can be helpful in my future career to create a private twitter to showcase my students' work to their parents or to create an online discussion. It also can be useful to gain more information and to pass that information onto my future students.
